Arkanoid
About Arkanoid
Taito (Japan) produced Arkanoid, a game where you destroy bricks, in 1986. Atari created the iconic game Breakout, and here is a new version of it. The player controls a barrier (called "Vaus") at the bottom of the screen to bounce the ball up, breaking the bricks above. The game has many levels, along with various support items and obstacles, creating endless appeal and challenge.
How to play Arkanoid
Objective:
Destroy all the bricks on the screen with the bouncing ball.
Controls:
- The player moves the barrier (Vaus) left or right to block the ball, not letting it fall to the bottom of the screen.
- The ball: When the ball touches the bricks, it will destroy them (or weaken them, depending on the type of brick).
- Power-ups: Some bricks when broken will drop support items such as:
- L: Extend the barrier.
- C: Catch the ball
- B: Double the ball
- D: Increase the speed of the ball.
- Laser: Allows the barrier to shoot bullets to break the bricks
Some tips for playing Arkanoid effectively
- Always follow the path of the ball—move the barrier so that it is always in the right position to catch the ball; avoid slow reactions.
- Prioritize catching the "Laser" item—this is an extremely powerful item that helps break bricks quickly regardless of the path of the ball.
- Focus on hard-to-break bricks—some bricks need to be hit many times or are in difficult positions; prioritize handling them early to avoid losing the ball, unfortunately.
- Stay calm when there are many balls—if you pick up a power-up that doubles the ball, try to keep at least one ball to avoid ending the level early.
- Avoid picking up harmful items—some items can shrink the barrier or speed up the ball, making it harder for you to control.
If you are a fan of classic games with light strategy and quick reflexes, then Arkanoid is a perfect choice for entertainment and concentration training!
